At the Reggie community's roadmap presentation, the moderator unveiled a sheet of paper and asked everyone to resist treating it as a deliverable. Before he reached the tokenomics slide, a squirrel in the front row ate the bottom corner. This removed the entire section titled Sustainable Long-Term Planning.
The roadmap committee called the incident a community-led revision. "We are moving from a static document to a living process," its chair explained, while trying to recover a milestone from somebody's cheek. The remaining paper showed three phases, two arrows and the phrase details to follow, which members agreed was plenty to build confidence around.
A volunteer proposed putting the roadmap on chain. The technical working group first needed to decide which chain, whether the document had reached consensus and who could afford to stop watching the discussion long enough to type it. After a vigorous debate, the proposal was recorded in pencil on a second sheet. That sheet was immediately designated a scarce resource.
The community then divided into believers in the original roadmap and supporters of the partially digested revision. Both groups insisted their preferred version represented Reggie's vision, although Reggie remained unavailable for comment and had never expressed a view on quarterly planning. The archivist asked whether anyone had kept a photograph. Several members posted photographs of lunch.
The revised roadmap now begins with a search for the original roadmap. Its dates are organised by fiscal quarter, but nobody can agree which quarter of the paper survived. Its only completed milestone is paper reduction. The chair called that a clear win for efficiency and requested that the next strategic document be printed on something less bullish.
